Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for sales within the Energy Solutions division at DTGen, including leading the proposal with the customer and actively collaborating with teams across the organisation to ensure successful deal closures. 

  • Assume accountability for achieving and surpassing the set sales targets within the Energy Solutions division, leading the sales team to deliver consistent and exceptional results. 
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare commercial proposals, showcasing attention to detail and technical expertise. Be readily available for customer meetings as required, actively contributing to and leading the deal-closing process. 
  • Monitor and oversee the sales pipeline, taking charge of hosting and leading weekly sales meetings with diverse teams to effectively manage and coordinate sales activities. 
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking, recording, and reporting systems for order intake, pipeline activity, completed proposals, and conversion rates. Effectively manage ongoing and live Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the division. 
  • Play a proactive role in the development and execution of our new energies sales strategy, contributing to its formulation and implementation.
  • Collaborate with directors to establish realistic and competitive mark-up criteria for each quotation, ensuring pre-approval for quick quotes and budgets. Actively participate in and approve mark-ups for larger and more complex equipment sales proposals, including the closing of commercial proposals and sales. 
  • Monitor and report on customer-derived financial, energy, and carbon savings resulting from our sales efforts. Collaborate with the marketing team to provide valuable data for content creation, including case studies and blogs, showcasing the impact of our products and services.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to formulate strategies and develop compelling content aimed at engaging customers and driving sales. 
  • Building cross divisional knowledge to ensure opportunities missed are minimised. Ensuring sales teams are aware of all our offerings and how these are applied to each type of customer/required solution. 
  • Encourage innovation and new ideas across the various sales functions. 
  • Drive team development within DTGen by organising internal training presentations and guidance packs, while also fostering skill enhancement through individual participation in shadowing non-core product/skill proposals throughout the entire sales process. 
  • Evaluate product offerings to identify gaps, weaknesses, and strengths, while also assessing potential threats to inform strategic decision-making.

Preferred experience:

  • Proven track record of at least five years in a sales leadership role, preferably within the industry or related industry. 
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex deals and projects, meeting or exceeding sales targets. 
  • Experience and some technical acumen in Combined Heat & Power (CHP), renewable energy solutions and/or energy consultancy. Experience in other industries will also be considered.  
  • Familiarity with energy modelling (preferred CHP), financial modelling and proposal development. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a history of developing and mentoring sales professionals. 
  • Proficiency in developing and presenting financial models that illustrate the cost savings and benefits associated with adopting specific energy solutions, particularly those involving CHP. 
  • Skilled in crafting comprehensive and persuasive proposals for CHP and energy solutions, addressing client needs and clearly outlining the value proposition. 

Note, these are preferred experiences, however, outstanding candidates from other industries and sectors will also be considered.
