Paul Moore

Paul Moore


Paul started Dieselec Generators with just three employees and subsequently grew the business to £7m turnover before partnering with Nevis Capital and merging with Thistle Generators. As Managing Director he has overseen the double-digit growth of DTGen and achieved listings with Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and Scottish Business Insider's SME300 as well as Regional Finalist in Ernst & Young Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Sales Director

Brian has been with the business for 11 years and is responsible for overseeing the frontend sales and marketing function, with a particular focus on non-solutions projects, direct and trade sales, as well as framework contracts. 



Billy Myers


Having held several key senior roles within global companies, Billy joined DTGen in 2018 to help drive the expansion of our Aftermarket business including servicing, contracts, parts, systems upgrades and temporary power. Billy brings more than 25 years of experience in the O&M field where he has worked across various and diverse industries.

Graham has worked in the industry his whole career and leads our service department and its team of engineers.  He is focused on delivering first class customer service.



John Kinstrie

John Kinstrie

Head of Solutions

John is responsible for our team of estimators and sales engineers.  He is responsible for and oversees the delivery of the initial design, commercial and technical proposals for our major projects.  He is also involved with our projects department focusing on the delivery of major projects. 

He joined our business in 2007 and has held a variety of engineering and sales roles. He holds various qualifications in electrical engineering.

Sales Engineer

Reuben joined our team in 2013 to help support the sales team, since then he has become a key member of our team and focuses on supporting our consultant & M&E customer base at the initial enquiry stage.  Reuben is also responsible for the day to day management of our framework contracts.  Reuben holds various qualifications and has a Bachelor of Engineering degree(BEng).

Our senior project manager, Donnie, runs our team of project managers.  Donnie has worked in the generator industry his entire life and is very experienced.  Donnie is involved in the delivery of both large and small solution projects.  He has a sharp eye for detail and is always ready to take on new challenges. 

Kenny Berrie

Head of Technical

Kenny is a highly experienced technical manager with over 40 years experience in the industry.  He leads our technical department which supports our entire business from initial sales through to aftermarket.  Kenny specialises in complex control systems and switchboard interfaces, he is responsible for our team of commissioning engineers.   



David McDougall

David McDougall


David is our works manager and is responsible for our workshop, stores and small project delivery, David has over 28 years industry experience.  He is responsible for the training of our apprentices and workshop engineers.  David holds various qualifications in Electrical Engineering.

George Hobbins B & W

Project Manager

George joined our business in 2007 and is our framework project manager responsible for a variety of sectors including utilities, rail, nuclear and oil and gas.  He is trained in high voltage operations and is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and Member of the Institution of Diagnostic Engineers (MIDiagE).

Project Manager

Joe is responsible for project delivery, ranging from small power projects to larger multiple set installations.  Joe works with our customers across a number of sectors including utilities, construction, data centres, hospitals and other industrial applications.  Joe joined us in 2012 and has an HND in Civil Engineering.

Jim specialises in delivering bespoke projects for high risk, challenging environments including Zone 2 hazardous areas, unmanned (NUI) oil and gas platforms, offshore wind farms and marine industry applications. He has worked in the power generation industry for almost 30 years, and is highly technically competent.

Mark Taylor

Project Manager - North England

Mark has worked in the generator industry for the last 30 years predominantly on the electrical installation side before becoming a site manager and then moving into the office as a project manager. He has successfully managed and delivered numerous complex solutions projects.  He has qualifications in electrical engineering and project management.

Thomas has worked in the power industry for around ten years, as an electrician before becoming a site manager and moving in to project management. He is predominantly responsible for framework projects in the utilities sector. He has an HNC in Electrical Engineering and is finalising his degree in Quantity Surveying.

Tony Stirk is our Gas Engine Specialist and is responsible for our CHP (combined heat and power) gas power generation product offering. He supports the business with the provision of technical expertise in respect of CHP and gas engines as we drive forward this area of the business.

Paul is responsible for the management of our parts distribution department, he assists our customers with parts identification and pricing.   Paul also provides internal FG Wilson product support to our sales, projects and service departments.

George Ford

Service Technical Manager

George is our Service Technical Manager responsible for the day to day running of our ever-growing service department.  He and his team are responsible for the 24/7 service support our customers get the length and breadth of the UK.  George completed an electrical engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Air Force, and has more than 40 years’ experience in the maintenance of generators. 

Robert Hunted

Head of Finance

Robert is responsible for the finances of DTGen, providing strategic financial guidance and robust, effective financial control and management.

He holds an LLB and B.Acc and qualified in 2005 as a Chartered Accountant through ICAS.  

Donna Blackhall

Donna Blackhall

Head of HR and Administration

Donna has worked for DTGen since the very beginning in 2004.  As our Head of HR and Administration, she is responsible for our front of house administration team, HR and recruitment for the business, whilst ensuring the smooth running of the office on a day to day basis. 


John Skinner


John joined the team to help drive the growth of our temporary power and fuel management business. He has 25 years’ experience, from running a fleet of lorries and tankers as transport manager to running a workshop with more than 630 generators. With his help, we have invested heavily in our temporary power and fuel management service, and will continue to do so. He is also responsible for our large and growing vehicle fleet.

Eilidh joined the team in September 2018 and is responsible for developing growth in our aftersales contracts, with a particular focus on renewal and retention of our existing large contract base and new contract business development.


Duncan Boyle


Duncan is responsible for informing new and existing customers about the range of services available from the aftermarket department. He has worked throughout a variety of industry sectors whilst employed in various roles at FG Wilson, Perkins and at DTGen.


Andrew McCutcheon


Andrew served his apprenticeship with DTGen and has progressed to the role of service supervisor. He is responsible for our team of multi-skilled engineers and ensuring complete customer care.


Brian Aitken

Board Member

Brian founded Nevis Capital LLP with John and James Pirrie in 2007 and has led its growth to become one of the leading UK investors in sub £10m deals. Prior to this, Brian spent 14 years at PwC, latterly as Corporate Finance Director and has completed more than 100 transactions during his 25 years in corporate finance. 



Ian Buchan

Board Member

Ian joined Nevis Capital LLP in 2008 and was promoted to Partner in 2015. Having qualified as a CA with PwC, he worked in the corporate finance team before working in Malawi with the Clinton Hunter Development Initiative. Ian’s role in Nevis is split between sourcing new investments and working with the existing portfolio.

Board Member

James and his brother John established LCH Generators which was sold to Speedy Hire PLC in 2006. LCH was a multi-faceted business with more than 200 employees operating from six depots across the UK.

Board Member

John started LCH Generators after a successful career in marine engine sales and as Managing Director he provided strong leadership and developed key customer relationships. He was also responsible for building the company’s headquarters and in acquiring and preparing depot premises throughout the UK.
