Supporting the Buchanan Wharf development

We have been appointed to deliver the standby power solution to the new Northern European hub of Barclays Bank in Glasgow’s dynamic city centre district, Buchanan Wharf.

Joe Skillin, Project Manager at DTGen, said: “We are trusted to deliver robust power solutions, in often complex situations, for large scale infrastructure projects including those in the financial services sector. Whilst we deliver for clients throughout the UK, it’s great to be working on such a prestigious project right on our doorstep.”

DTGen will supply and install two 2250kVA prime-rated generator sets with a complete fuel system and bulk fuel tank in the basement of building one; along with a 730 kVA rooftop generator with a basement fuel tank in building two.

The bank’s new hub will house its technology, functions and operations teams. Once completed the campus will accommodate up to 2,500 additional staff, doubling Barclays' current Scottish workforce.

Jes Staley, Group Chief Executive, Barclays said: “Glasgow will be home to one of our global strategic campuses alongside Whippany, New Jersey, and Pune, India.

"This site will play a critical role in developing and deploying the technology which customers and clients rely on and which is the foundation for our future success.

"Glasgow city has all the attributes to be a leading UK and European technology centre and we look forward to being part of it."

One of Scotland’s largest and most important commercial and residential regeneration development sites, Buchanan Wharf is situated on the south bank of the iconic river Clyde, directly opposite Central Station, and walking distance from the International Financial Services District. It is comprised of prime office space and a mix of homes, local amenities and open public spaces.
