We have installed a new 350kVA open generator airside at Edinburgh airport.
Welcoming more than 14m passengers per year, travelling to and from 157 different destinations, and open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a resilient standby power solution is critical at Scotland’s busiest airport.
The new generator is fed from a free-standing bulk fuel tank that we installed previously as part of upgrade work at the airport. It has been installed and connected into an existing Asco 7000 series switch, and auto-starts in the event of a mains failure, break then make, and will return to mains automatically without a break when the mains supply is restored.
During installation works, we also supplied a temporary generator on hire to support the site.
Edinburgh Airport has a £125 million five-year investment programme to include additional retail in the landside terminal and departure lounge, improved check-in and immigration facilities. The airport has also just announced plans for £20m investment in transport improvements.
