Topping it off for Atlantic Square

Working on behalf of FES Ltd, we have delivered the impressive installation of a 1,000kVA generator to the roof top of the new ten-storey Atlantic Square building in Glasgow.

The 20,000kg container, which is approximately nine metres long, was craned more than 46m in to position from the road to roof level.

The installation is supported by a 275kVA generator in the basement area along with a 3,500-litre bulk fuel tank that will supply fuel to the set on the roof. There is also a permanent 1,000kVA load bank mounted on the roof for on-going maintenance testing.

HM Revenue and Customs will occupy the new building on Argyle Street for a minimum of 20 years. The estimated 187,205 sq. ft. of office space will eventually accommodate around 2,700 full-time equivalent employees by 2021.

Legal & General’s forward funding of part of the project has enabled the joint venture of BAM Properties and TCP Developments to start the development of the two-building scheme which was designed by concept architects Cooper Cromar with further refinement by BAM Design. The development is being built by BAM Construction.
