Technical Service Engineer

Job purpose:

Electrical and controls technical lead engineer for the service department who will diagnose and undertake the repair and maintenance of generator sets and control systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical lead engineer for the service department
  • Ensuring all works are completed on DTGen business systems and devices
  • Preparation of RAMS and work packs as required
  • Modifications and up-fits of control systems
  • Fault finding and diagnostics of control systems
  • PLC and motor control centres
  • Knowledge of synchronising and mains paralleling to G-99
  • To read and understand control systems (fault finding)
  • Assistance in maintenance programmes
  • Onsite maintenance and repair of generating sets
  • Workshop repair and maintenance of generating set and control systems
  • Diagnosing and effective repairs of faults in generator control systems
  • Diagnosing and effective repairs of faults in generator control systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
  • Comply with the company health & safety policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy. This includes company vehicles
  • Comply with all aspects of the company’s ISO standards: Quality management – ISO 9001:2015 / Environmental – ISO 14001: 2015 / Occupational health and safety management – ISO 45001:2018, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme
  • Ad-hoc other duties as and when required to meet the needs of the business

Job Description:

DTGen is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our Emergency Power division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment sales to UK Contractors, and the ability to drive business growth through effective sales strategies and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve sales targets and expand market share in the emergency power sector.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients and market segments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored power solutions.

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that effectively communicate DTGen’s value proposition.

Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform sales strategies and ensure compliance.

Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior management.

Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote DTGen’s emergency power solutions.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the emergency power or related industry.

Experience of selling equipment to the Contractor market.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Job purpose:

To address customer issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner and ensure that all valid customer concerns are being dealt with immediately.

Complies with the policies and procedures of the company. Service Administrator to maintain the positive image, brand, and reputation of the organisation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Usage of Tesseract and customer portal systems.
  • Accept client phone calls, resolving client queries and escalating/delegating where required.
  • Monitor and control service and service reports inbox, resolving client technical/administrative queries and escalating/delegating where required.
  • Send documentation on request to customers e.g. Service Reports, RAMS, insurance documents, training records etc.
  • Carry out invoicing, customer portals, job costing tasks (breakdown calls) and PO follow ups.
  • Update business with department accumulative figures for the month.
  • Raising calls on Tesseract e.g. breakdowns, remedials etc. on receipt of client PO and keep enquiry spreadsheet up to date.
  • Add all parts onto calls raised and liaise with stores team for parts to be picked.
  • When required raise renewal contracts and new maintenance contracts as per Aftersales Contract and Key Account Manager’s instruction.
  • Support Service Controller with allocating engineers jobs to REA as required.
  • Assist with issuing remedial quotes.
  • Raise PO’s and GRN where required.
  • Support wider service team where required.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively.
