Standby for Leicestershire County Council

We have been appointed by Leicestershire County Council to supply, install and maintain a new standby power system to its Glenfield County Hall headquarters.

Midlands-based Chris Connors, DTGen Sales Manager – Power Solutions, said: “We are delighted to support Leicestershire County Council with this robust emergency back-up power solution. We have a strong track record of delivering high spec equipment to local authorities ensuring a seamless transition between old and new systems, and look forward to working with the team at the council to ensure the building is up and running to support all 800 staff, systems and infrastructure.”

DTGen will supply and install a 1MVA standby generator in an acoustic enclosure that is noise attenuated to 78dBA at seven metres, with an integrated 1,000ltr fuel tank. The new system, which includes a fire suppression system and alarm, will be operational in the coming months.

The equipment is supplied with two years’ manufacturers’ warranty and will be supported by a long-term servicing agreement with DTGen.

Leicestershire County Council, formed in 1886, is one of the highest performing in England. It is comprised of 52 divisions and employs more than 5,000 full-time staff.
